Polish light heavyweight Dawid Kostecki suffered an upset loss to tough Frenchman Rachid Kanfouah in Krosno. Kostecki floored his opponent in the second and it looked like an early night, but Kanfouah came back and floored the tiring Pole in the seventh. Kostecki then ran completely out of gas and was stopped in the ninth. On the undercard welterweight Rafael Jackiewicz knocked out Sergey Shnip in the second. Evans Ashira, now at 154, outscored Sasha Shnip over six.
 
OPI 2000 promotes a show on May 19 Abano Terme (Padova) with ex-WBC 168 lb titlist Cristian Sanavia on top. Sanavia fights Ukrainian Konstantin Makhanov. Cruiser Pietro Aurino is featured in the chief support taking on Frenchman Christopher Robert.
 
Norwegians Nikita Dubunin and Andreas Evensen fights in Torrevieja, Spain, on May 19 against Slovakian opponents. Dubunin, 4-0 and a jr middleweight, take on Patrik Prokopecz while Evensen, 1-0 and a jr light, square off against Stefan Berza. Both are trained and managed by Helge Waeroy. Dubunin and Evensen are heading for Aarhus, Denmark, and trainer Brian Mathiasen´s gym for final preparations. Mathiasen also trains jr middleweight Reda Zam Zam who, according to espabox.com, could be facing Spaniard Pablo Navascues June 9 in Copenhagen in a supporting bout to Kessler vs Tsypko.
 
Latvian middleweight Jurijs Boreiko, who knocked out previously unbeaten Swede Tonton Semakala during his last time out, headlines a pro/am show in Liepaja on June 3.
