Former EBU middleweight champ Sebastian Sylvester takes on Frenchman Frank Mezaache for the vacant WBA I/C title in the chief support to Abraham vs Miranda on September 23 in Wetzlar. This one was to have been on the postponed Oldenburg show as well. Also on the bill are Jimmy Colas´ defense of the EU 154 lb title against Christophe Canclaux, super middleweights Vitaly Tsypko and Stepjan Bozic clash over eight, and heavies Alexander Povetkin and Oleg Platov are featured in separate bouts scheduled over eight, opponents to be announced. Platov´s planned fight against IBF I/C ruler Henry Akinwande will now go ahead in November. Also on the bill are Norwegians Nikita Dubunin and Andreas Evensen.
Ex-WBA middleweight ruler Felix Sturm returns after the loss to Javier Castillejo on November 18 in Duesseldorf. WIBF feather champ Ina Menzer is in the chief support - if she beats Leli Luz Flores on Saturday in Magdeburg that is.
EBU light heavyweight king Stipe Drvis defends the title on December 2 in Berlin. Drvis´ mandatory challenger is his stablemate at Universum, Thomas Ulrich.
Austria-based Chilean Joel Mayo returns home after three straight losses over here and headlines a small show on September 8 in Santiago.
Look for Swede Robert Nordman, at cruiserweight in his last outing in 2004, to return as a middleweight during the fall in the US. Nordman, 3-3-1, wants to close out his career with a profight in Sweden.
