IBO light heavyweight champ Igor Mikhalkin have spent some time in Copenhagen sparring with WBA # 1 super middleweight Patrick Nielsen, who prepares for an important fight October 14 in London against John Ryder, who like Nielsen and Michalkin is a southpaw.

As for Michalkin the plan is to defend the title early December but against who and where is to be announced.

Croatian heavyweight prospect Filip Hrgovic, 1-0, takes on Czech Pavel Sour, 6-0, on the undercard to Juergen Braehmer vs Rob Brant World Boxing Super Series quarterfinal on October 27 in Schwerin.

Hrgovic represents according to a German press release from Team Sauerland the future of heavyweight boxing and it´s a fact that he was one of the best amateurs for a number of years. Swedish super middleweight Oliver Flodin (1-0) might also appear on the bill.

Former WBA interim super middleweight champ Vincent Feigenbutz (26-2)  has extended his contract with Sauerland Event and is also featured on the Schwerin bill against an opponent to be announced. Feigenbutz is also ready to step in as substitute should any of main event fighters pull out.
