Former EBU and Italian super welterweight champ Luigi Minchillo has passed away at the age of 68 after suffering a heart attack.

Minchillo fought in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal and turned pro in 1977. In 1981 he became EBU champ after beating Louis Acaries and then made his US debut later the same year when he took on the great Roberto Duran but lost on points.

Minchillo retired in 1988 after losing to Rene Jacquot and went out with a record of 55-5.

Former IBF and WBA female super middleweight champ Elin Cederroos, 38, has announced her retirement. Cederroos, a former football (soccer) player, began boxing late and didn't have her first amateur fight until 2013.

After a short - 14 fights, 8-6 amateur career, she turned pro in 2017 and won the IBF title 2019 by beating Femke Hermans and then added the WBA belt to her collection with a win over Alicia Napoleon Espinosa.

False promises from the now defunct Triller Promotions derailed Cederroos' career and it wasn't until 2022 that she could fight Francis Crews Dezurn with the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO titles at stake. Elin's lack of experience showed and she lost to Crews Dezurn and then to Shadasia Green in what was her last fight. She goes out at 8-2.
