The EBU, European Boxing Union, has reacted strongly to a press release from the EBF, European Boxing Federation, and has threatened them with legal action. The EBF was formed earlier this year and has been joined by the EEBA, Eastern Europe Boxing Association, in conducting business in Ukraine and with various martial arts organizations. Over the years there´s been a number of "pirates" on the European fight scene who all eventually folded. If this is the same case here, it still remains to be seen.
 
Italian cruiser Vincenzo Cantatore has once again changed promoters and is now with Mario Loreni. originally he left OPI 2000 and then Rosanna Conti Cavini. Cantatore debutes for Boxe Loreni on July 16 against Brazilian Edson Cesar Antonio.
 
EBU jr middle champ Sergej Dzindziruk has Spaniard Ruben Varon as mandatory challenger since Italian Michele Piccirillo is moving towards a world title shot.
 
EU 135 lb champ Abdel Jebahi is finally set to defend the title against Italian Michele Delli Paoli on October 4 in Lyon with EuroProm staging the fight. Jebahi vs Delli Paoli went to a purse bid a number of times with no one bidding and when there was a bid, it was too low to even be considered.
 
It´s nothing new, but still deserves to be noticed that retired former WBU heavy champ George Kandelaki is the President of the boxing federation in the Republic of Georgia.
 
Czech jr middle Lukas Konecny has German Alexander Sipos as co-challenger for the vacant EU title.
 
LA-based Swedish lightweight Shadi Hamsho moved to 3-0 on June 24 with second round stoppage win over Isidro Herrera.
 
Swedish female supermiddle Asa Sandell has signed with Rock & Sock Productions. Sandell is 3-0-1, but at 38 she is running out of time.

Newjersey.com reported that Omar Sheika will get a shot against WBC supermiddle champ Markus Beyer on September 3 in Berlin. Sheika has been in the running and Beyer´s trainer, Uli Wegner, made it clear when interviewed for a Canadian paper some time ago that he preferred Sheika as an opponent for Markus rather than Eric Lucas. The contracts were signed yesterday. There is no official confirmation from Sauerland Event yet.
