It´s an exciting matchup for an obscure belt that was created in collaboration with the WBA Int´l - but without the knowledge of the main WBA. As WBA Int´l later was suspended by the WBA the EEBA also went out of business - or so it was thought.

Rossitto´s promoter Rosanna Conti Cavini had won purse bids to stage the fight. Who Gourov. a dangerous puncher, will get as new mandatory challenger isn´t clear yet.

Brahim Bariz won a majority decision over Fabrice Colombel last night in Roselaere in a minor upset. As Bariz is licensed in France the Belgian 140 lb title remains vacant. Had Colombel, like Brahim from France but licensed in Belgium, won he would have gotten the belt. In the co-headliner Farid El Houari outscored Rachid Mokhtari to win national title at 135. Heavyweight Oleg Platov stopped Thierry Guezouli in two.
Finnish heavy Sami Elovaara returned after a long injury layoff last night in Haukipaudas and outscored Slovakian Wladimir Szabo over six. Local hero Markus Huhtala stopped one Ditrich Libich in the second at 168 while jr middle debutant Mika Joensuu outscored Andrei Amer over four.
Purse bids for EU 135 lb champ Abdel Jebahi´s defence against Michele Delli Paoli were held this past Friday in Rome. However, the winning bid were so low it´s doubtful that the EBU will force Jebahi to go through with the defence in he case he rejects going to Italy.
