WBO jr. middleweight champ Sergei Dzinziruk´s postponed defense against Czech Lukas Konecny will now go ahead as chief support to Ruslan Chagaev´s defense of the WBA heavyweight title against Brit Matt Skelton January 19 in Duesseldorf. This one was originally scheduled for November 30 in Karlsruhe.
The WBA eliminator, Nikolai Valuev vs. Sergei Liakhovich, will indeed go ahead February 16 with Nuremberg as site.
Sauerland Event´s super middleweight prospect Karo Murat face Emiliano Cayetano December 29 in Bielefeld on the undercard to Cunningham vs. Huck. Cayetano floored Mads Larsen on his previous visit to Germany but eventually lost on points.
French site netboxe.com announce the comeback of 44-year-old ex-champ Christophe Tiozzo on January 12 in Paris - as a wrestler.
The IBF have sanctioned an eliminator at middleweight between Mahir Oral, # 15 in the ratings, and Fulgencio Zuniga, # 10, and Arena Box Promotion writes in a press release that the winner will get the # 1 spot - should that be correct it´s not exactly in accordance with the IBF rating rules. Either way, Arena plan to do the fight in February in Hamburg.
Swedish heavyweight Attila Levin remains in full training in Florida for a comeback and is looking to return to the ring late January.
Undefeated Ukrainian welterweight Vyacheslav Senchenko won the vacant WBA I/C title and defended the EE-EU crown stopping the brave Viktor Sydorenko with a bodyshot in the third on December 14 in Donetsk. Senchenko is likely to defend the WBA I/C title at the end of March. In other fights Oleg Yefimovych retained the WBO I/C featherweight title with a landslide decision over former three-time EBU challenger Yuri Voronin. Lightweight Andrei Kudriavtsev returned from the bad loss to Paulus Moses with a close win over Aram Ramazyan and Stas Kashtanov, at super middleweight, outscored Frenchman Laurent Goury.
