New York Daily News writes that IBF heavyweight champ Chris Byrd will take on Wladimir Klitschko on April 22 in Mannheim. Sauerland Event, site promoter, confirms that the matchup, date and site are on top of the list, but that there is no final confirmation from Klitschko´s promotional outfit K2.
IBF I/C jr middle champ Marco Schulze will take on American Dillon Carew on February 24 in Oranienburg. In the co-headliner WBO I/C ruler Jan Zaveck face Joel Mayo from Chile but fighting out of Austria. Also on the bill is the comeback of Stephan Trabant and three fighters, Alexey Mazikin, Marco Cattikas and Gbenga Oloukun from Spotlight Boxing.
Veteran Massimo Bertozzi have at very short notice replaced Pole Stanislaw Ziemlowicz as opponent for Cristian De Martinis. De Martinis-Ziemlowicz was to had been for the vacant WBA I/C 147 title but De Martinis vs Bertozzi is for one of the IBF subtitles.
Site and date remains the same: January 27 in Val della Torre.
Danish super middleweight Rudy Markussen squares off against American Brock "Bremerton Butcher" Stodden on the undercard to Gatti vs Damgaard January 28 in Atlantic City. Markussen outscored Russian Alexander Zaitsev on the undercard to Kessler vs Lucas January 14.
WBC Youth 168 lb champ Konni Konrad defends the title on February 28 in Stuttgart against Venezuelan Alfonso Mosquera. Russian supermiddle Denis Inkin is on the undercard.
Big Timo Hoffmann will now, after some changes, take on American Zack Page, on the undercard to Beyer vs. Colajanni on January 28 in Berlin.
Euroboxe promotes a small show in Denain, Belgium, on January 28, topped by super middleweight Michel Henrotin.
