Various sites - including the French Federation´s own website - have reported that it was Daniel Peret/Peretiyako, who was knocked out by Carlos Nesting Takam on May 11 in Saint Denis. However, fighting Takam was Romanian Ioan Mihai. Peret, fighting out of Trondheim and Murmansk, will take on Dieter Roth on Saturday in Hamburg.
Marco Schulze retained the German and IBF I/C jr middle titles on May 12 in Oranienburg with a majority decision over Turgaz Uzun. Jr middleweight Pietro d´Alessio knocked out Daniel Kafer in the eighth and final round in one of the two upsets on the shows, in the other supermiddle Bernard Donfack outscored Christian Pawlak over six. Pawlak had ex-WBO champ Ralf Rocchigiani in the corner.
Italian jr. middleweight Luca Messi has been signed up by Don King Productions and fights ex-WBA welterweight champ Jose A Rivera on July 7 in Connecticut on the undercard to Sims vs. Alcine. Messi had been denied a license in Italy on medical grounds after a genetic abnormality was found during the MRI that was taken after his loss to Michele Piccirillo (it went down as a TKO loss but Messi more or less quit when he kept slipping on the canvas). The abnormality have apparently always been there and Messi had been granted a license in Florida.

The police authorities in Wetzlar received a complaint - apparently a long time ago -from an anonymous person - in the crowd or watching on TV - in regards to Ulli Wegner, chief cornerman for IBF middle champ Arthur Abraham and professor Walter Wagner, chief physician, for risking Abraham´s health when they didn´t retire the champ after he had his jaw broken in two places with a bad bleeding as well in the fourth of his titledefence against Edison Miranda on September 23 of last year in Wetzlar. The complaint does strangely not include the only man who had the formal right to stop the fight: American referee Randy Neumann. There will be preliminary hearings on May 22. Abraham beat Miranda on points after a very controversial fight.
