WBC super flyweight world champion Juan Francisco Estrada is on the shelf at the moment, as the entire world battles the coronavirus pandemic.
When the sport resumes, Estrada may battle Carlos Cuadras in a rematch. Estrada won a tough twelve round decision over Cuadras a few years ago.
"As we all know it's the promoters who are the ones who make the fights. They tell me you are going to fight with such and such a person. I have to be prepared. We cannot choose opponents like Pacquiao or Canelo, they can choose whoever. They come and tell me 20 days before of the fight against who I'm going to fight. No way do I say I don't want to fight, we are not boxers who make millions of dollars," Estrada told Bolavip.
"What I have in mind is the fighter ranked at number 1, which is [Srisaket Sor] Rungvisai. The first fight I have to do is with [my mandatory] Rungvisai. But the promoters, the interviews and the social networks say that it may be with Cuadras. I'm going to fight with whoever they tell me."
And Estrada believes that he's going to beat Cuadras in style this time, unlike their close battle in 2017.
" I think I'm going to knock him out. In the first fight I had with Cuadras, I didn't feel 100 percent, I was injured. But if there is a second fight I know I'm going to beat him by knockout," Estrada said.
And the biggest fight for Estrada is a rematch with Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, who recently shocked Kal Yafai for the WBA super flyweight belt.
"Me and my coach had been talking to my promoter about making a fight with Yafai, because we thought he was a champion who did not have as much experience as a professional like Jerwin Ancajas or Román González. There are fighters where you knock them out and they are never the same, and then there are other fighters [like Chocolatito] who continue on with their boxing like nothing happened.
"Román González is a great fighter, with a great experience and when he enters the ring he can fight the same or even better than before. He has great experience, great training discipline and knocked out a boxer of great magnitude."
