Two fighters will square off in a bout where both are trying to snap a two-fight losing streak.

Super bantamweights Efrain Esquivias and Roberto Castaneda square off in a scheduled 10-round bout on May 17th, Thompson Boxing matchmaker Alex Camponono told Boxingscene.com on Friday.

The bout will headline “Path to Glory” card and will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA.

Esquivias (16-2, 9 KOs), who hails from Carson, CA, is coming off a one-sided 12 round unanimous decision loss to Jonathan Romero on September 21st. The bout was an elimination bout for the IBF number two ranking.

Prior to his loss to Romero, Esquivias lost a close eight round majority decision to Rico Ramos on June 23rd.

Castaneda (20-3, 15 KOs) was knocked out in the third round of his last fight on November 11th by unbeaten Gary Russell, Jr.

Prior to the loss to Russell, Castaneda was stopped in the 6th round by Christopher Martin on June 29th.

The rest of the undercard will be announced at a later date.
