MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Errol Spence Jr. (17-0, 14KOs) easily wiped out late replacement Phil Lo Greco (26-2, 14KOs) in three rounds.
Lo Greco accepted the fight on two days notice after original opponent, Roberto Garcia, withdrew from the contest on Wednesday citing personal reasons. The fight took place at a max-weight of 152-pounds.
Lo Greco came out aggressive and body wise he seemed to be a lot bigger. Spence was patient, picking his shots and staying defense when Lo Greco attacked with his flurries.
In the second, Spence was going to town with his combinations, landing hard to the head and body. Lo Greco was shaken up a few times but took the punches well.
At the start of the third, Spence landed a wicked hook that sent Lo Greco down. Lo Greco beat the count, charging at Spence to make it a physical fight. But he was wide open and it was target practice for Spence, who unloaded with both hands. Spence was working over Lo Greco against the ropes when referee Robert Byrd stepped in to wave things off.
