Welterweight contender Errol Spence (21-0, 18KOs) is hoping to secure his IBF world title shot sooner than later.

The current IBF world champion, Kell Brook (36-1, 25KOs), is still recovering from a orbital bone fracture that was suffered during last month's fight with middleweight king Gennady Golovkin.

At the moment Spence is waiting for Brook to make a decision regarding his title.

For the fight with Golovkin, Brook moved up in weight by thirteen pounds. After the fight, he conducted several interviews where he made it appear as if he was going to vacate the belt and resume his career as a junior middleweight. But then he requested more time from the IBF to decide his next move - because he underwent surgery for the orbital fracture and is not positive on when he'll be capable of fighting.

Spence has a plan to capture the IBF strap - and then he wants to go after two other champions in his weight division - Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman - who coincidentally are in line to fight each other in a unification showdown in March of next year.

"According to his interviews he's going to vacate, so hopefully he vacates because I don't want to wait until next summer to fight him because he had the broken eye socket and had surgery and that's going to take some time," Spence told BoxingScene.com. "I want to fight for the IBF world title and then fight guys like Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman, who are already stars, and beat those guys."

Spence liked what he saw from Brook's performance against Golovkin, but the undefeated Olympian is still very confident of beating Brook - regardless of where the the fight takes place.

"I thought he did better than what everybody else expected. I actually put $400 on him. I actually bet on him to win, because the odds were too good. He did alright, he did good. He did good enough that it made a lot of middleweights call out Triple G now. He did better than a lot of people expected," Spece said.

"It's going to be a good fight [between me and Brook], whether he comes to America or I go to the UK. Its going to be a great fight, but it's definitely going to end with my hand raised."
