WBA 'regular' junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara (20-2-2, 12KOs) is looking for the best names possible in 2015.
Lara came to the ring twice in 2014. He headlined in July, on Showtime Pay-Per-View, against Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Lara lost a close twelve round split decision. The fight was close, some had scored it 7-5 in rounds in either direction and many scored it a draw. Lara was upset with the third judge who had it scored 117-111 for Canelo.
The Cuban fighter returned in December and won a lopsided twelve round unanimous decision over veteran and former IBF junior middleweight champion Ishe Smith.
"I just want to face the best. I want to test myself against Floyd Mayweather Jr. I want to fight Miguel Cotto. If Canelo dares to give me a rematch, I will beat him again. I'm not afraid of anyone. I want the best. Look at my record because it speaks for itself [that I'll fight anyone]," Lara said.
