Top-rated junior welterweight Érik "El Terrible" Morales is very focused on his training for the clash with Jorge Barrios on December 18. Morales and Barrios will clash for the WBC's silver title at the Caliente Racetrack in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
A lot has been discussed about a possible fight between Morales and Juan Manuel Marquez, who continues his chase of Manny Pacquiao. Morales reveals that during the recent WBC convention, promoter Don King offered him a fight with WBC 140-pound champion Devon Alexander. Morales has a lot of interest in the fight because he wants to become the first Mexican boxer to win four titles in four weight divisions.
Alexander is scheduled for a unification clash with WBO champion Timothy Bradley on January 29 in Detroit, Michigan.
"Barrios is a very good fighter and I should really concentrate on my fight with him. I've read a few statements made by Juan Manuel, where he declares that he is only interested in facing Pacquiao again and I don't blame him for chasing good fights," Morales said. "In Cancun, Mr. King offered me a fight with Devon Alexander, which is something that interests me."
