BoxingScene.com spoke with sources in Mexico who are close to the camp of three division champion Erik Morales, and they deny the ciculating rumors that Morales will fight either Willie Limond or Jorge Barrios on July 17 in Mexico.
From what I was told, an offer was made to Barrios, who turned it down for several reasons. I heard the money wasn't enough for Barrios to move up to junior welterweight for a fight with Morales in Mexico. Barrios, who finished going through a mountain of legal issues, has not fought or properly trained since last year and needs time to get back in the gym and a tune-up or two to sharpen up.
