Former four division world champion Erik "El Terrible" Morales has given high praise to WBC flyweight world champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (44-0, 38KOs). Morales has been impressed with the work of Gonzalez, who many now consider as the best pound-for-pound fighter in boxing.
Morales is worried that Gonzalez will lack the right opponents to get to the highest level in the sport, because he's only 112-pounds.
"Chocolatito is a man of great talent, great technique. He is the most technical fighter right now. He's a throwback fighter like those of many years ago, but he's lacking a little but in terms of opponents," Morales said.
On November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Mexican star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will take on WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto.
Morales sees no clear favorite in the contest, viewing it as a 50-50 fight for his countryman.
"It will be a very tough fight [for Canelo]. We have to see how he develops [in the fight], if Canelo has that heart to move forward [to the next level]," Morales said.
