David Benavidez has no shortage of HUGE fights on his radar. In an exclusive interview with BoxingScene, Jose Benavidez Sr. makes it clear that David still wants the biggest names at 175lbs including Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. Benavidez has previously said those are two fights he wants to make as he pursues more titles and major challenges. But there’s another name that could make things very interesting: Andy Ruiz Jr. Jose discusses the possibility of an all-Mexican showdown between Benavidez and the former heavyweight champion, along with David’s plans across multiple divisions. And with a potential Jai Opetaia showdown also building after the pair came face-to-face following Opetaia’s latest victory, Benavidez has some massive options ahead.

BoxingScene.com was advised that Jorge Barrios was denied permission to travel from Argentina to Mexico for a scheduled fight this Saturday with Erik "El Terrible" Morales in Tijuana. According to sources in Argentina, a hearing judge overseeing Barrios' criminal case would not grant the former champion permission to leave the country.
Barrios is currently on trial for aggravated homicide in connection to an automobile accident which occurred earlier this year in Buenos Aires. Barrios lost control of his automobile and crashed into several vehicles. The accident killed a 20-year-old pregnant woman.
At the time of the accident, Barrios is alleged to have been speeding and ran a red light. He fled the scene of the accident, but his lawyer brought him to a local police station a few hours later. Promoters in Mexico are hunting for a late replacement.
