Former three division champion Erik Morales has stepped on the gas in training camp. Morales is in deep training in Mexico for his ring return on March 27 against Jose Alfaro. The first fight for Morales since October 2007. The fight is a welterweight attraction scheduled for a catch-weight of 142-pounds.

Morales has been running every day in the mountains and hitting the gym at night with his trainer/father Jose Morales. He has been sparring with young prospects. Reports from Mexico indicate Morales is looking very strong in sparring. Morales' father told reporters that his son is working to the extreme and doesn't complain about the heavy load of training for this fight.
