Erik "El Terrible" Morales wants more than anything to make history on Saturday when he faces Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. With the interim-WBA 140-pound title on the line, Morales wants to become the first Mexican boxer to win titles in four weight divisions. Morales is a former super bantamweight, featherweight and super featherweight champion. Maidana, 27-years-old, has 29 wins, 27 knockouts and two defeats. Morales, at 34, has a record of 51-6 and 35 knockouts.
Morales has not fought in Las Vegas since 2006, when he was knocked out by Manny Pacquiao.
"I've been looking forward to this fight with the hope of seeing myself become a world champion for the fourth time. I will get it right and win, I'm sure of it. I will make history. It brings me a lot of joy to be back in Las Vegas, to be back in an interesting fight on HBO pay-per-view. There are many who have doubted me, but they've had very little credibility," Morales said.
