As BoxingScene.com reported last week, Former four-division world champion Erik Morales (52-9, 36KOs), and former three division champion Humberto Soto (60-8-2, 34KOs), are being positioned to fight each other in the fall. Soto returns this Saturday against Hiroshi Nakamori (33-5-1, 20KOs) in Tijuana. They both appeared together at a press conference last week to promote the show. Morales will be at ringside for the match. Both fighters are now throwing gasoline in the fire with a heated verbal exchange.

"He was a guest on a show [last] Friday and I think it was Marianita who brought up the subject. I hope that he didn't yes just because he was on national television. If he accepts the fight, I will retire him. I will beat him so shamefully that he will need to retire," Morales said.

Soto fired back.

“I will not be an ornament for Morales' farewell. If he wants to fight me he’s going to take a loss. I am totally focused on my fight this Saturday against Nakamori in Tijuana. After that, I’ll take great pleasure in facing Erik Morales and knocking him out so that he can no longer return."
