As broken early this morning by BoxingScene.com, former champion Jorge Barrios was removed from this Saturday's fight with Erik Morales after a judge refused to give Barrios permission to leave Argentina for Mexico. Barrios has a pending criminal case in his country.
According to Morales himslef, Barrios will be replaced by Dominican boxer Francisco Lorenzo. They will clash for the WBC silver junior welterweight title at Stadium Caliente in Tijuana, Baja California.
"I'm ready for the fight with Lorenzo," Morales told reporters after a tough workout at the Otomi Ceremonial Center in Temoaya.
