As it was reported last week by BoxingScene.com/NotiFight.com, three-time world champion Erik "Terrible" Morales will face the former world champion at 130 pounds, Argentine boxer Jorge "Hyena" Barrios on December 18 at Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, Mexico. It's being said the WBC's silver belt at junior welterweight will be at stake with a catch-weight of 138-pounds.
Jose Morales, trainer and father of Erik, sees it as a very risky fight. Barrios is the best opponent Morales will face since he returned earlier this year after being away from the ring since 2007.
"It will be a risky fight for Erik, as Barrios has similar characteristics to that of my son and has fought against great opponents," said Jose Morales. "The city of Tijuana will win because the people will see a great fight. Barrios is a quality fighter and his reputation is not overhyped. We will begin training next week in Otomi."
