Erik "El Terrible" Morales, from his training camp in Temoaya, where he is preparing for his upcoming fight in Tijuana on December 18 against tough Argentinian Jorge "The Hyena" Barrios. For 2011, Morales will go after the biggest fights possible. After learning that Manny Pacquiao is likely going to face Shane Mosley in April, Morales is likely heading in the direction of a showdown with Juan Manuel Marquez.
"I'm training hard, because 'Hyena' is a great fighter with great boxing ability. He is a world-class opponent, and I have to beat him," Morales said.
According to Morales, there is a possbility of a March fight with Marquez in Las Vegas. If he beats Marquez, he believes that he can force a fourth fight with Pacquiao. Morales was the last fighter to beat Pacquiao, by decision in 2005. He was knocked out in their next two meetings.
"I like the idea of a fight against Juan Manuel Marquez because this is another high-level encounter. Afterwards, I can then look for another fight with Pacquiao," Morales said.
