Junior lightweight prospect Erick De Leon will fight veteran Aldimar Silva Santos on October 28, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman told BoxingScene.com.
The eight round bout will take at the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Tex.
UniMas will broadcast the fight, beginning at 11 p.m. ET/ PT.
The 24-year-old De Leon (13-0, 7 KOs) has quietly put together an solid resume fighting modest opposition.
In his last bout on June 25, De Leon stopped Carlos Valcarcel in the sixth round. Earlier this year on January 16,, De Leon knocked out Fidel Navarrete in the opening round.
De Leon has worked with trainer Robert Garcia.
Santos (19-10, 12 KOs), who resides in Sao Paolo, Brazil, has not fought since December 12, when he lost a one-sided 10 round decision to Oleg Malynovskyi.
Prior to that fight, he lost an eight round split decision to former featherweight world titleholder Evgeny Gradovich.
Also fighting on the Top Rank card, unbeaten middleweight prospect Esquiva Falcao squares off in an eight round bout against Gerardo Ibarra.
Falcao (14-0, 11 KOs) stopped Paul Valenzuela in the fourth round of his last fight on May 14. Ibarra (14-3, 8 KOs) won his first 14 bouts before losing his last three.
Goodman stated the bout will air live throughout Brazil, while the fight may or may not air on the UniMas broadcast.
