Eric Morel is close to completing the 80 rounds of sparring for his upcoming fight. The former 112-pound champion of the WBA is ready to avenge one of two defeats in his career when he takes on Martin Castillo on April 1 at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. The fight will be televised by Telefutura.

"And then we want Nonito Donaire. Now he's with Golden Boy Promotions and we want for Oscar de la Hoya to get him to us. If not, we'll fight with any of the other champions. Nonito is now on the hit parade and we are confident that Eric wins," said Cyril Morel, father and trainer of Eric.

Cyril said his son "is looking lik a 25 year-old' and is 'very strong.' Castillo, with a record of 35-4 and 18 knockouts, is a wall in the road of Morel, who is 43-2 with 21 knockouts.
