Former flyweight champion Eric Morel (37-2, 19KOs) is targeting a bout with bantamweight champion Gerry Penalosa (53-6, 36KOs). Morel returns to action on May 23 against Evaristo Primero at the Coliseo Antonio R. Barcelo in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico. Manuel Alejandro Siaca (20-6, 18KOs), who briefly held the WBA super middleweight title, will appear in the co-feature.

"That is the fight I want. It doesn't matter where it takes place. Penalosa is the one I want and I don't have the smallest doubt that I'll be a world champion again. I know time is passing by, so I want to fight as often as possible to work my way to a shot," Morel told Primera Hora

Primero will be Morel's third bout of the year after resuming his career in February after a three-year layoff due to legal troubles.
