Former champion Rosendo Alvarez (37-3-2, 24KOs) has been training in California for the last six months to prepare for a planned comeback. Alvarez, inactive since being knocked out by Jorge Arce in 2006, is indicating that an offer was accepted to face top bantamweight contender Eric Morel (45-2, 23KOs) on December 3rd at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The card is a Showtime televised bantamweight doubleheader with Chemito Moreno defending the WBA belt against Vic Darchinyan and Abner Mares defending the IBF crown against Joseph Agbeko.
