A show is being together for December 13 in Puerto Rico, co-headlining will be former champion Eric Morel (39-2, 20KOs) and unbeaten super featherweight prospect Roman Martinez (20-0-1, 20KOs). It marks the fifth time Morel will fight in 2008. He returned in February after a three-year layoff due to legal issues and a prison stint. Martinez will be taking part in his fourth fight of the year.
Ivan Rivera, president of Puerto Rico Best Boxing Promotions, told El Nuevo Dia that both fighters, if they win on December 13, are going right into title fights in 2009. Because of that, Rivera says the event is called "The Final Step." Their opponents will be announced in the next few days. Several prospects will appear on the undercard.
