Two-time world champion Eric Morel reappear on August 13 in California on a Showtime televised card, which is going to be headlined by bantamweights Abner Mares (21-0, 13 KOs) and Joseph Agbeko (28-2 and 22KOs), with the IBF title at stake.

"This is the [bantamweight] final and Eric will be on the card. Morel's plans are to seek a title shot with Golden Boy Promotions, who signed him and I made two fights and this is the third," said Gaby Peñagaricano, his legal counsel.

He said that a title shot should happen at 118 pounds, where Morel reigned as the WBO's champ on an interim basis, but it is possible that he could move up to the junior featherweight division and challenge Jorge 'Travieso' Arce, who has the WBO crown.

Morel and Arce were about to fight several months ago but an injury to the Mexican forced the fight to get canceled.
