Former flyweight champ Eric Morel (39-2, 20KOs) has been pushing for a title shot with WBO champion Gerry Penalosa, but he recently received an unexpected offer to fight WBA bantamweight champion Anselmo Moreno (23-1-1, KOs) of Panama in November.

Morel has stayed busy since returning to the ring in January after a three-year layoff, he won four bouts in a row. Moreno upset unbeaten Wladimir Sidorenko for the title last year in Germany.

Talks are going to continue, Morel has not accepted the offer yet. He says the offer is good and a win could set up a unification bout with Penalosa.

"They put a tempting offer on the table," Eric's father, Cirilo Morel, told Primera Hora. "We are fine tuning the details to see if we plan to accept it.  Eric is ready for this type of fight and we feel that he will win that title. After we win the title, we go after Penalosa."
