Trainer Enzo Calzaghe says the long debate is finally over. When Joe Calzaghe retired in 2008, Carl Froch was furious and said the Welsh star was scared to give him the opportunity of a big fight. Ezno trained his son to a undefeated tally of 46-0 at the time of retirement, with 32 wins by knockout.

After watching Froch struggle against George Groves, Calzaghe thinks his son would have demolished Froch if the pair ever met in the ring.

Enzo Calzaghe told The Mirror: "Carl Froch has finally convinced me he is an average world champion. All the hype was fake. No more talk about him boxing Joe. It would have been like a lamb to the slaughter."
