There are conflicts over the reports swirling around that point to Floyd Mayweather Jr. making a boxing comeback with the tentative date of July 11 on HBO. Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather's close friend, adviser and public mouthpiece, spoke with Mayweather's hometown paper, The Grand Rapids Press , and denied recent reports of a Mayweather comeback. He confirmed that Mayweather is training in his Las Vegas gym - but only to stay in shape.

"Floyd does what he does. He always goes to the gym and keeps himself in shape (from a fitness standpoint)," Ellerbe said.

On the other end, Mayweather's grandmother, Bernice, says her grandson is indeed training for a comeback. In the past Mayweather's family members have told newspapers that Floyd was coming back - and then he didn't. She claims that Roger Mayweather, Floyd's trainer and uncle, is in the gym with him.

"He's going to be fighting again," Bernice Mayweather said. "He's in the gym training right now."
