By Jhonny Gonzalez
Featherweight Elio Rojas (22-1, 13KOs) continues to train hard, but recently learned that his opponent fell out for the scheduled return on September 17th at the Indoor Sports Complex in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic. Rios was scheduled to face Arturo Gomez, but the Mexican boxer refused to face Rojas at the featherweight limit of 126-pounds. Gomez is unable to get down to 126-pounds and wants to make the bout at 130 or 135, which isn't going to happen. Rojas, the WBC champion in recess, wants to face Jhonny Gonzalez for the full title by the end of the year. A new opponent for Rojas will be named in the next few days.
