At the Scheels Arena in Fargo, North Dakota, rising light heavyweight contender Marcus Johnson (20-0, 15 KOs) battered Kevin Engel (18-4, 15 KOs) over three rounds. The writing was on the wall of this one. Engel was decked twice in the third before the referee waved off the contest. It was the fifth consecutive stoppage win for Johnson.
Aaron Pryor Jr. (15-2, 11 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Dyah Davis (18-2, 9 KOs) in a super middleweight contest. The scores were 79-73, 79-73 and 78-74.
Super middleweight Edwin "La Bomba" Rodriguez (17-0, 13 KOs) stopped James "Buddy" McGirt Jr. (22-3-1, 11 KOs) after a pretty much one-sided fight. Nearly every round was a mirror image of each other. McGirt appeared too worried about the power of Rodriguez, took no chances and played the defensive role for the entire contest. The one-sided bout was finally stopped in the ninth round.
