At the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, California, super middleweight Edison Miranda (33-4, 29 KOs) returned for the first time since his decision loss to Andre Ward, and stopped Francisco Sierra (20-3, 19 KOs) in the first round with a crushing right hand. Miranda is now being trained by Joe Goossen and co-promoted by Warriors Boxing and Goossen Tutor Promotions. Miranda would like to enter the Super Six tournament being put together by Showtime - if Jermain Taylor is unable to continue.
In the co-feature, Manny Quezada (29-4, 19 KOs) won a ten round decision over Nicolai Firtha (16-7-1, 7 KOs) in a heavyweight contest. The scores were 98-92, 97-93 and 99-91.
