Bantamweight Edison Berwela and featherweight Ariel Delgado have come back to register victories after a couple of defeats in their previous fights.

The 28-year-old Berwela - who had lost three fights in a row earlier this year including a defeat 21 days ago to Thailand’s Noknoi Sithiprasert (35-4, 20 KO’s) following a twelve round unanimous decision loss in a PABA super flyweight title fight to Denkaosan Kaovichit - came back to score a 3rd round knockout of Christian Abila in a fight card at the Tanada Subdivision in Valenzuela City.

Referee Virgilio Garcia reached the count of ten at 1:02 of round three. With the win Berwela improved his record to 11-19-4 with just 2 knockouts

Delgado, a talented 27-year-old scored a unanimous ten round decision over Rene Bestudio to improve his record to 20-7-3 with 8 knockouts.

All three judges scored the fight in favor of the southpaw Delgado.

Virgilio Garcia and Gil Co had Delgado the winner 96-93 while Sammy Bernabe scored it for Delgado by a bigger 97-92 margin.

Delgado was coming off back-to-back defeats in 2011. He dropped a ten round majority decision to highly touted Michael Farenas, a protégé of former two division world champion Gerry Penalosa, on January 14 - and then suffered a 2nd round knockout at the hands of South Africa’s Thabo Sonjica on July 31.
