Edgar Sosa knows he can't afford to lose, and he's working really hard in the gym for his fight against the Japanese boxer Masafumi Okubo, set for the 20th of this month in Monterrey. The WBC international flyweight champion had an intense open workout in the Diaz Miron gym, which revealed that he's in excellent shape.
Sosa said that in addition to risking his crown, he will jeopardize his status as the official challenger to the flyweight chmapion of the World Boxing Council, currently held by Thai boxer Ponsagklek Wonjongkam.
"I am motivated because if I want to be world champion, I must to face the best. Okubo is one of them, a required test before seeking my second world title," Sosa said.
He said the fight is in Monterrey where the people "are nice, and know about boxing, and they know when a fight is worth it or not. So now I guarantee that I'm going out to give the most of myself, as I do in every one of my fights. "
Regarding Okubo, Sosa said that he "has experience, has fast hands and for that reason we designed a strategy that allows us to not only win, but to convince the public in Monterrey."
Edgar continues his preparations with coaches Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Fernando Aguilar and Juan Lugo.
