WBC junior flyweight champion Edgar Sosa (34-5, 18KOs) returns on March 28 in Tamaulipas, Mexico. Sosa defended his title four times in 2008, beating Juanito Rubillar, Sonny Boy Jaro, Takashi Kunishige and Jesus Iribe. Sosa plans to fight four times this year, and then move up in weight. The opponent and exact venue has yet to be announced.

Sosa wanted to return to the ring a little earlier but the cuts he received in his last fight with Rubillar needed more time to heal. He wants to unify the titles. If he can't land a unification fight before the end of the year, he will jump up in weight to challenge for another title. The goal for Sosa in 2008 is to reach 10 defenses of his title.
