Former WBC junior flyweight champion Edgar Sosa may consider a showdown with newly crowned WBC flyweight champ Koki Kameda of Japan. Sosa is a few months away from getting back to a boxing gym. He will need a few months to recover from the multiple facial injuries that he suffered during his recent two round TKO loss to Rodel Mayol.

Sosa had two titanium plates placed on the left side of his face. The result of a bad clash of heads with Mayol. The WBC made him the Champion Emeritus, which gives him an immediate shot at Mayol and/or a straight shot at Kameda if he decides to move up in weight. Sosa has already planned out a move to flyweight.

"It get interesting. Kameda is an idol in Japan. He is like a boxing God in his country. It would be interesting to fight against it. But the important thing right now is my recovery, so I can be in excellent condition when I go after a world title," Sosa told ESTO.
