FORMER Philippine flyweight champion Edgar Rodrigo – the only fighter to have defeated Z Gorres – will take another chance to get into the limelight when he fights a world rated boxer in Thailand.

Rodrigo accepted the offer to fight World Boxing Council (WBC) number 12 light flyweight contender Petchtapee Pinsinchai on November  11 at World Store in Ladrao District in Bangkok, Thailand.

The fight is set in a 10-round non-title fight under Aswindam Boxing Promotion.

Petchtapee has picked Rodrigo to prepare for a bigger fight. He is coming of defending his belt in a very controversial verdict against reigning World Boxing Empire light flyweight title holder Jun Arlos of Paranaque City on Aug. 31 in Thailand.

Rodrigo became a household name after he shamed the over hyped Gorres via a 9th round knockout for the Philippine 112-pound title fight in Makati City on June 1, 2003.

The 5-foot-2 southpaw is coming of in a very impressive first round knockout win over Somyat Sor Vorapin of Thailand in their Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation flyweight title eliminator on January 29 in Paranaque City.
