BIRMINGHAM, England – Eddie Hearn has confirmed that he will be the lead promoter for Teofimo Lopez Jnr’s WBO junior lightweight title defense against three-division champion Shakur Stevenson.
Both Lopez and Stevenson have been vocal on social media about a fight between them for what seems an eternity, and both are already in camp preparing. There has been, however, no word of when the bout will actually take place or where it would land. Hearn expects that to change in the near future.
“Hopefully some news very, very soon,” Hearn told BoxingScene, who seemed like he didn’t want to give too much away regarding the bout. But he did confirm that he will be promoting the event on behalf of Riyadh Season.
