WBO junior middleweight champion Sergiy Dzinziruk (37-0, 23KOs) is ready to fight anyone at 154-pounds. During the last couple of months, we've seen Paul Williams, Sergio Martinez, Alfredo Angulo and Vanes Martirosyan make challenges in the direction of various junior middleweights, but Dzinziruk's name is never mentioned by any of them.

After a long legal battle with his former promoters, Universum, Dzinziruk signed a co-promotional contract with Gary Shaw and Artie Pelullo of Banner Promotions. He then moved to Los Angeles and made his American debut in May against Daniel Dawson in a Showtime televised fight. It was Dzinziruk's first fight in fifteen months. He broke Dawson down and became the first man to stop him when the referee called the fight in the tenth round.

Dzinziruk's adviser Harry Kazandjian tells BoxingScene.com that his fighter is hungry to fight again. And the opponent Dzinziruk wants more than anyone else, is WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez. Kazandjian says a catch-weight solution would not present a problem. He thought Dzinziruk was going to fight Angulo. For reasons unknown, the fight fell through.

"I don't think a catch-weight is going to kill anybody, as long as there is an agreement, because Angulo ran away from us. He was going to fight us but for whatever reason we got turned down. He ends up fighting over the weekend and he won the fight. Congrats to Gary Shaw, who is our co-promoter [and promoter of Angulo]. Angulo wants to step up. To be the best you have to fight the best," Kazandjian told BoxingScene.com.

"I don't think people realize. Sergei is the only [top] undefeated junior middleweight right now. He's the only one with the "0" on his record. There is nobody else at junior middleweight, Miguel Cotto, Margarito, Paul Williams, Sergio Martinez, Cintron, Cory Spinks, Angulo - without a "0" on their record. They have all been defeated. Sergei is the only one who has never been defeated. He is the real deal, but for whatever reason his name does not exist. All of these people want to fight each other and nobody mentions Sergei's name, but he is willing to fight any of them - Paul Williams, Martinez, Cotto, Margarito."

Dzinziruk is even in the Manny Pacquiao hunt. Kazandjian doesn't understand why Pacquiao would consider fighting Cotto for his WBA junior middleweight title, when considering how Pacquiao dismantled Cotto last November for a twelfth round stoppage win. He thinks Pacquiao should fight a real 154-pounder if he wants an eight divisional belt, and Cotto should fight the other champions because another Pacquiao fight does nothing for his career.

"I know [Top Rank CEO] Bob Arum wants to keep it in his own stable and have them fight each other, but that is bad business [for boxing]. Cotto already got beat by Manny Pacquiao. Why would anyone want to see Manny Pacquiao beating Cotto again? Just because Pacquiao gets his eight title. What does that do for Miguel Cotto? Cotto has the WBA and we're the WBO - let's get it on," Kazandjian said.

Another fighter searching for a big opportunity at 154-pounds, is Vanes Martirosyan (28-0, 17KOs). Kazandjian overlooked the record of Vanes, who is also undefeated. Vanes will soon become the mandatory challenger to Dzinziruk. Angulo is the interim champion and the number one ranked contender under the WBO but I believe he lost that position when he accepted a WBC eliminator last Saturday against Joachim Alcine. Paul Williams is ranked at number two. He plans to move to welterweight so that rules him out. And Vanes is sitting at number three.

Kazandjian likes the idea of a fight with Vanes. Dzinziruk actually sparred with Vanes not that long ago in the Wild Card Gym.

"Vanes is a young Armenian who is hot-blooded. I know because I'm Armenian but not that young. He gets the Armenian people behind him. I think if Top Rank asks him to fight Sergei, he'll say yes. He's calling out Paul Williams and saying how he's going to knock Paul Williams out. But there are steps you have to go through to get to that point. I think Sergei and Vanes is a great fight. We'll have the Russians and the Armenians. Sergei is ready to go," Kazandjian said.
