During a recent interview with the Irish Sun, promoter Pat Magee said Bernard Dunne (24-1, 14KOs) is possibly in line to rematch EBU super bantamweight champion Kiko Martinez (17-0, 14KOs) by the end of the year.

Martinez blew out Dunne in a single round last October, which destroyed a lot of high hopes for the young prospect. Martinez is open to a rematch, but Dunne will have to wait. Already lined for Martinez is a title defense against  England's Rendall Munroe in March.

Following the March defense, Martinez will make a mandatory defense of the title against Salem Bouatia, with a venue based in France playing host. If Dunne is still around by the end of the year, Martinez will give him the chance to get his revenge.
