Welterweight contender Thomas Dulorme (17-1, 13 KO) is convinced that he will be a world champion at 140-pounds and he wants the big names - including the new sensation Adrien Broner, who is currently the WBC champion at 135-pounds but plans to move up to 147-pounds to face WBA champion Paulie Malignaggi on June 22. On Saturday night Dulorme will return to the ring in Carolina, Puerto Rico against Ben Ankrah (17-12, 8 KOs), a late replacement.
Dulorme has been squeezing down in weight, fighting between 147 and 140, and plans to fully head down to 140 for a world title.
"He is still at 135 and I think he will have problems at 140 and 147. Paulie wants to to fight him at 147 and he knows why. Malignaggi can be hurt by a real welterweight, but not by someone who is not a real 147-pounder. He would not run that risk against Broner, who is a very talented guy and works very hard. It would be a pleasure to fight with him and I know I can beat him because I am a big and strong man at 140," Dulorme said.
