WBC cruiserweight champion Grigory Drozd (40-1, 28KO) will make the second defense of his world title on April 8 in Moscow (Russia), according to his promoter Andrei Ryabinsky of World of Boxing.
The opponent will be mandatory challenger Ilunga Makabu (19-1, 18KO), who won every single fight since losing in his pro debut in 2008.
Makabu became the mandatory challenger after a come from behind knockout win over the very durable Thabiso Mchunu on May 16th in South Africa.
Their bout was previously scheduled to take place, but Drozd suffered a knee injury during training.
Drozd captured the title by unanimous decision over veteran champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk in September 2014. He came back in May to stop Polish contender Lukasz Janik in nine rounds.
