Donnie “Ahas” Nietes (30-1, 16KOs) retained his World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior flyweight crown with a twelve round unanimous decision over Felipe Salguero (16-3) of Mexico at the Resorts World Manila in Pasay City. Nietes punished Salguero during the early portions of the fight, but couldn't finish him off and tired down the stretch as Salguero came on. The scores were 115-113, 116-112 and 116-112 all in favor of the reigning Filipino champion.

Also on the card, WBO's highly ranked flyweight contender Milan “El Metodico” Melindo (27-0, 11KOs) crushed Colombian boxer Jesus “El Cuchilla” Geles for a first round TKO. Geles (13-3) had been overweight on Friday and Melindo had no issue with allowing the fight to move forward. It didn't prevent him from letting his hands go and overpowering Geles with three knockdowns to score an impressive stoppage win.
