Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Bantamweight contender Nonito Donaire (25-1, 17KOs) is going to look for the knockout on Saturday night when he faces WBC/WBO champion Fernando Montiel (44-2, 34KOs). Both boxers have predicted knockout victories. Donaire is about a 2-1 betting favorite as of Thursday.
"I want to knock Montiel out, and I know that he wants to knock me out. This is why it's going to be such a good fight because we want to tear each other's head off," Donaire said.
Donaire's trainer, Robert Garcia, also expects fireworks.
"We're prepared for a war. I think it's going to be a very exciting fight. We've had a great training camp and Nonito is ready," Garcia said.
