Philippine bantamweight champion Michael Domingo is given a good chance of winning the vacant WBF bantamweight title in his battle with French champion Frederic Patrac at the Palais de Sports in Agde on October 3.
Respected boxing patron Tony Aldeguer said the disciplined and hard-working Domingo who has racked up eight wins in a row after moving to the famed ALA Gym in Cebu was quietly confident when he left yesterday morning for France accompanied by well-known boxing manager and promoter Sammy Gello-ani and trainer Edmund Villamor.
Aldeguer said Domingo had a "good chance" of winning the title and said he had instructed the Philippine champion to pressure Patrac from the start. Domingo who is regarded as a slow starter has a ring record of 26-13-3 with 11 knockouts and is coming off a split decision victory in his last title defense against former champion Johnny Lear on July 15..
