Super middleweight Andre Dirrell is backing WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch to beat Glen Johnson in the semi-finals of the Super Six tournament. Their fight is scheduled for June 4 in Atlantic City. Dirrell doesn't see it as an easy for Froch. He expects Johnson to give him a very tough time.
"I believe Froch will come out victorious because he is the younger guy," said Dirrell to The Nottingham Post. "He's very long and he's very awkward, but Johnson is going to give Froch one hell of a fight. I believe it's going to turn out to be a great fight. In the end it could end up being a split decision for Froch."
Dirrell lost a close decision to Froch in the first stage of the Super Six. He's willing to entertain the idea of a rematch, but only if Froch is able to walk away from the Super Six with his WBC title in place.
"The only way I would want to fight Froch is if he had the belt," said Dirrell. "That's the only way I would want to see him again. It really wouldn't bother me if I never fought him again but I'm not dodging anyone. I've already fought two of the best, Arthur Abraham and Froch, and I did an outstanding job with them. I'm looking forward to tournament leaders, the belt holders, or whoever else has the hype when I get back into it."
